Accenture will update technology architecture and redesign the Securities and Exchange Commission‘s three websites, including the agency’s employee intranet, the company announced Tuesday.
The company won a five-year, $13 million contract to conduct a visual redesign for SEC.gov, manage content, optimize the website for search engines, provide user analytics and site security.
Ed Meehan, head of Accenture’s federal civilian agency portfolio, said the project aims to form an integrated architecture to address security.
Shortly after he elevated to head that portfolio, Meehan spoke with ExecutiveBiz where he discussed the company’s technology consulting work and his work on a stock exchange project (click here to read the full Q&A).
The company will also update Investor.gov, which investors use to conduct background checks on investment professionals and firms, review financial documents and identify potentially fraudulent offers.
SEC“™s employee intranet is used by more than 3,800 internal users on the agency’s network, according to the company.
Accenture estimates the SEC portals receive more than 35 million visits a day and average 450 million visits per month.
