American Systems has won an $83 million task order under the U.S. General Services Administration's Connections II contract to provide network convergence solutions to the Internal Revenue Service.
The contract calls for program management, engineering, logistics, purchasing, testing, implementation and support for the converged network operating the IRS enterprise-wide unified communications solution, the company said Wednesday.
“American Systems understands the need for integrated communications systems in the federal workplace to help IRS achieve their mission,“ said Bill Hoover, American Systems president and CEO.
The network convergence solution is expected to help integrate various media into a single user interface, making them accessible from different devices and improving connectivity and productivity within the IRS.
The media integration includes:
- Video messaging
- Presence technologies
The firm-fixed-price task order includes one base year and four one-year options.
Work will be performed at more than 600 IRS locations across the U.S. and OCONUS.
