CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) and McKesson UK have won a seven-year contract to provide fully managed payroll services to the U.K. Department of Health's arms length bodies, according to a CGI statement.
The companies will provide provide full end-to-end payroll processes and services using the NHS electronic staff record system to those organizations, which employ more than 30,000 staff and include the Health Protection Agency and the NHS Commissioning Board.
“The GPS framework is an extremely effective way for the public sector to both make cost savings but also to ensure a consistently high level of service across organizations,“ said Paula Sussex, vice-president of the CGI Public Sector, UK.

According to the release, the managed payroll services will be implemented immediately and DH will have an option to evaluate how ALBs can further modernize back office services using the GPS’ Framework.
