Harris Corporation has been included in The Civic 50, a list which scientifically evaluates and ranks the companies that best use their time, talent, and resources to improve the quality of life where they do business, according to a company statement.
The National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) and Points of Light conducted the survey which was published in the November 9 issue of Bloomberg Businessweek.
“A commitment to civic responsibility is an integral and sustaining part of the Harris culture,” said William Brown, Harris president and CEO.
Ranked No. 45, Harris was evaluated in several areas including:
- Employee engagement in the community
- Community partnerships
- Cause alignment
“We focus our resources on programs and organizations that enrich the communities where we have operations, are relevant to the missions of our business and advance the education of young people who will lead our workforce in the years to come,” Brown added.
Other firms included in the list were HP, Raytheon and Intel.
