NetApp and cloud computing service provider Citrix are partnering to provide enterprises a merged system for sharing data and files across storage deployments, NetApp announced Wednesday.
Citrix ShareFile users will access NetApp’s ONTAP software for running FAS and V-Series storage systems and accessing data.
“Our mutual enterprise customers want to confidently access and share data regardless of location,” said Patrick Rogers, Netapp vice president of solutions and integrations. “With today“™s announcement, organizations can reap the benefit of mobility and collaboration while also having enterprise security and control over their data.”
“Our recent release of StorageZones empowers them to choose where their ShareFile data is stored ““ on-premise, or in the cloud or a mix of both,” said Jesse Lipson, Citrix VP and GM for data sharing. “StorageZone Connectors allow enterprises to leverage data in existing network shares and make it accessible for secure mobile access by employees.”
Citrix and NetApp will leverage their joint partner communities to bring the collaboration to market, NetApp said.
The combined platform features remote wiping, poison pill, custom audit logging and storage capacity.
