Unisys has been chosen by the U.S. National Archives to transfer email and collaboration apps to the cloud, according to a company statement.
Under the $7.2 million National Archives and records administration Google apps for government program, Unisys will transition NA’s 4,5000 users to the cloud and support the agency for five years, including one base year followed by four one-year option periods.
The firm fixed price contract was awarded to Unisys under the U.S. General Services Administration IT 70 schedule contract program and base year is valued at $2.8 million, while the total contract is worth $7.2 million if all options are exercised.
Venkatapathi “PV“ Puvvada, Unisys Federal Systems civilian agencies group vice president, said the move will allow the agency to “cut costs and become more efficient as its employees perform their important and high-profile mission.“
Unisys recently completed moving 5,000 Department of Energy employees to the cloud.
