Dell has developed new software to provide organizations a unified and open interface for visibility and management of information technology.
The company said the Dell CIO Powerboard integrates Dell Quest, KACE, SonicWALL and AppAssure into one system for use by chief information officers, IT administrators and Dell’s partners.
“CIOs need to respond to ever changing IT environments while business goes on and orders are being placed and processed,” said Carol Fawcett, CIO of the software segment. “If a system is unresponsive, we need to understand when it started and why, in order to quickly engage the right IT skill in order to resolve the issue.”
The company is also offering a limited release of its KACE K3000 Mobile Management Appliance, a mobile management platform for organizations to manage bring your own device programs.
Other new offerings include the Dell PowerVault DL4000 appliance and AppAssure software for monitoring network security threats.
The DL4000 is a 1U backup that integrates 5.5 upgradable terabytes of storage capacity and two standby virtual machines with Dell’s AppAssure snapshot, replication, deduplication and compression software.
Organizations use the DL4000 to recover applications and data during outages.
DL4000 will be available next week, while CIO Powerboard and KACE K3000 will be available early 2013.
