The collaboration came shortly after NASA released “Black Marble,” a set of high-resolution images of the Earth at night, featuring images captured over 22 days between April and October 2012.
According to J. Nicholas Hoover’s report, Google Maps users can zoom down to city view with the added capability.
Zoom capability to street level view is not available, Hoover writes.
Information Week also reported that NASA released an interactive version of the Black Marble as part of NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System’s Worldview tool.
Through that tool, users see satellite imagery and data from up to 50 streams.
