Pete Marion, a senior program manager at Parsons Corp., has been appointed to serve as secretary of the executive committee for an affiliate subsidiary of the National Defense Industrial Association.

Parsons said Marion will lead the National Training and Simulation Association, a trade group representing companies in the simulation, training and support services industry.

The appointment was announced at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference last week in Orlando.

“Parsons is honored by NTSA’s recognition of Pete’s leadership capabilities,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, president of Parsons’ government services group. “We look forward to the opportunity this appointment affords us to strengthen our ties to NTSA and our position as a leader within the simulation, training, and support services industry.”

Marion is a 37-year veteran of organizational and executive management as a military, business and government professional.

He joined the company earlier this year after serving as an assistant program executive officer in the Army’s PEO for simulation, training and instrumentation for 8 years.

Between 1975 to 1995, he served in active duty assignments for operational and training command in the U.S. and Germany.

Marion was the Army principal to I/ITSEC and sat on the I/ITSEC executive committee from 2005 to 2011, where he served as the primary point of contact for all Army support to I/ITSEC during the Army host years of 2005, 2008, and 2011.
