SAP has launched a program to help measure and share information on performance of government officials and projects, the company announced Tuesday.

The Boston About Results program, containing a performance management scorecard will use the SAP Urban Matters program to align the city’s strategic goals, metrics and initiatives with accountability and ownership.

SAP is working to help the city communicate with citizens through mobile performance tracking, said Geraldine McBride, president of SAP North America.

A Web-based system collects and tracks performance data for all city departments in the scorecard, which is based on the SAP Strategy Management application and the CitizenInsight mobile app.

CitizenInsight delivers information to mobile devices, the company said.

According to the company, the scorecard for public works shows the percentage rate of pothole complaints currently sits at 96 percent, in increase from the 48 percent recorded in early 2011.

The program is also aiming to update the business permit process, address employee attendance issues and grow the amount of community policing walk-and-talk initiatives.
