DHSlogoThe Department of Homeland Security is asking vendors to submit ideas on how it can implement new security technology at border checkpoints and other domestic locations on a two-year schedule, NextGov reports.

Aliya Sternstein writes DHS’ science and technology directorate wants the two-year innovation cycle to cover project inception through operational testing in order for rapid development and prototyping.

DHS is also seeking a common understanding between industry and government on the definition of rapid prototyping, according to the report.

Respondents are also being asked for advice on the types of contract details government should provide, Sternstein writes.

Responses are due Feb. 22.c
