Nearly two-fifths, or 42 percent, of chief information officers told an Accenture survey managing increased use of mobile devices is one of their top five priorities.
Thirty-four percent of the 413 CIOs surveyed said mobility was a priority of theirs for 2013, Silicon Republic reports.
Tina Costanza writes 43 percent said their biggest need was to provide mobile users instant data access, capture and processing, while 36 percent cited customer engagements on mobile platforms as their top need.
Jin Lee, Accenture senior managing director of mobility, recommended CIOs focus on areas that show growth potential such as connected devices, Costanza reports.
Seventy-three percent said mobility will have an equal or greater impact on their business since the Internet boom in the late 1990s, the survey said.
