BAE Names 15-Year Vet Ben Bridge Middle East, Africa Head

baeGceBAE Systems has appointed 15-year company veteran Ben Bridge regional managing director for the Middle East and Africa, AMEinfo reports.

Bridge succeeds Simon Keith and will be responsible for BAE’s activities throughout the Persian Gulf region and Africa.

He will also oversee both the company’s strategic vision and relationships with customers and partners in the region.

The Middle East and Africa market has potential opportunities for BAE to form partnerships and work with the U.K. government, Bridge said.

Bridge, based in Abu Dhabi, most recently served as regional vice president of BAE’s Middle East business and also has previously served as international business development director at Detica, BAE’s security business.

He has also served as regional vice president for BAE Africa.

Before joining BAE, he served as a pilot and an Arabic linguist in the British navy and then as assistant defense attache for British embassies in Kuwait and Cairo.
