CGI Group has won five-year contract to update a U.K. local council’s back office systems for a project aimed at achieving annual savings of up to $4.7 million.
The company will install a SAP enterprise resource planning platform intended to consolidate the Kirklee Council’s financial, procurement, payroll and human resource systems, CGI said Thursday.
Kirklee officials want to use the platform for making decisions, delivering public services and managing information, the company said.
Paula Sussex, CGI vice president of the U.K public sector, said the company developed a system with the goal of providing the council a joined-up view of its resources.
CGI said it has implemented the platform 15 times for local government, adding it plans to make that platform the basis for a future SAP-based shared service platform.
