Reston, Va.-based information technology services provider Ambit Group works with the Federal Communications Commission to manage and configure databases.
The agency uses the databases to provide customer service to consumer, private and public sector audiences for broadband mapping and spectrum auctions, the company says.
Ambit helps the FCC run database management systems such as Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
The company installs, configures and updates the systems and also provides continuity-of-operations services to the FCC .
Additionally, the company is responsible for requirements gathering, verifying, validating and testing new software and systems and acts as the interface between the developers and the business users.
Ambit develops and provides both computer and classroom-based training for the project, the company says.
Under a second project won in August 2012, Ambit is standing up and building a program management office that will aim to establish standards and evaluations used for measuring project cost, schedule and performance.
