Deloitte To Help Labor Dept's Cloud Transition; Chris May Comments

DeloitteLogoDeloitte has won approval to host the Labor Department‘s litigation data outside of the department’s firewall as DOL intends to move to a cloud computing environment.

The professional services firm obtained the authority-to-operate following a review of its information management security policies and information technology infrastructure under the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Deloitte said Wednesday.

This is the first ATO the government has given for litigation support systems, according to the firm.

Chris May, principal at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, said the firm intends to support the government-wide cloud transition effort.

Agencies are moving their data and systems to the cloud under the Office of Management and Budget’s “Cloud First” policy.

Deloitte will also offer DOL and other federal agencies e-discovery, document management and forensics capability support under the ATO.

The firm is also aiming to help other federal agencies comply with security requirements under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, known as FedRAMP.
