Executive Profile: Dave Herr, BAE Service Sectors EVP

Dave Herr finalDave Herr serves as executive vice president of the service sectors at BAE Systems, overseeing both the intelligence and security and support solutions sectors.

His appointment to that position took effect in February 2013 and he also continues his current role as support solutions president until the company names a successor.

The support solutions business provides federal defense and civilian customers air and missile defense system services, development and integration of precision tracking radars and communications systems integration.

That business also includes systems engineering and technical assistance, readiness and sustainment, and system and subsystem integration.

Prior to elevating to his current lead role, Herr served as vice president of commercial avionics for BAE Systems’ platform solutions business.

His other executive roles with the contractor have included VP of operations for the former electronics and integrated solutions operating group and VP of operations for platform solutions.

Prior to joining BAE, Herr held executive roles in procurement, program management, production operations and product support at General Electric Aircraft Engines and Lockheed Martin.

He also spent time as a senior buyer for ITT Aerospace Optical and as a material control supervisor for the International Harvester Company.

Herr holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Francis University and a master’s of business administration from Northern Kentucky University.
