A Kratos Defense and Security Solutions subsidiary has won a multi-million dollar order to update hardware for five satellite geolocation systems in use worldwide.
SAT Corp. is aiming to help SES S.A. expand both geolocation capacity and number of signals that use geolocation on the satID and Monics systems over the next five years, Kratos said Monday.
Phil Carrai, Kratos president of technology and training solutions, said the company is aiming to expand in the commercial satellite communications market.
Under the order, SAT Corp. will maintain and upgrade software and provide SES technical support.
The satID system is intended to locate and identify sources of interference due to equipment failure, operator error, intentional jamming or unauthorized users.
The Monics enterprise networked carrier monitoring system is designed to monitor satellite uplink and downlink performance.
