Hewlett-Packard is developing a new tablet that will run on the Android operating system, ReadWrite reports.
Taylor Wimberly writes HP has been working on Android-related projects since 2010 and once shipped TouchPads with Android installed instead of webOS.
HP could help Google put Android in the desktop PC market, an area the search giant is targeting, according to Wimberly.
The website is also reporting the company is looking into a new Android-powered smartphone but such a launch will likely not occur this year, citing comments from CEO Meg Whitman.
HP's first Android device will be powered by the NVIDIA's Tegra 4 chip, according to ReadWrite.
