Science Applications International Corp. has unveiled a new big data software platform intended to help businesses make decisions by ingesting and processing data from several sources.
SAIC’s DigitalEdge is a cloud-based big data ingestion platform aimed at enterprises in the energy, financial services, health, national security and telecommunications sectors, the company said Wednesday.
DigitalEdge is also designed to alert users of potential cybersecurity threats, financial fraud and medical research and digital anomalies.
John Thomas, SAIC group vice president for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, said the company built DigitalEdge with the goal of helping clients reach and correlate diverse data sets to create information.
“This is important first stage to the big data life cycle that sets a strong foundation for deep analytics,” Thomas said.
“Live correlation of massive amounts of disparate data in-stream gives organizations their first glimpse of actionable digital intelligence with activity-based, contextual information to drive business decisions,” said Gulu Gambhir, group chief technologist officer.
Customers run the platform in private, public and hybrid cloud environments and can integrate it with legacy systems, SAIC said.
