Chief information officers will also move beyond from purchasing storage to deploying big data platforms and organizations will also want systems that run both traditional and big data analytics, the company said Tuesday.

“The future of business belongs to those enterprises that embrace the big data analytics movement and use it to their advantage,“ said Scott Gnau, president of Teradata Labs.

Gnau said business leaders and CIOs that adopt big data analytics in a unified architecture will be the most competitive in the marketplace.Future big data discovery platforms could contain tools for Structured Query Language, business intelligence, statistics and MapReduce analytics, according to Teradata.
