The companies are aiming to combine VT's aviation and unmanned systems experience with GSM’s manufacturing experience to bring the new technology to market by 2013, VT said Tuesday.
VT and GSM are targeting customers in the commercial, civil and government markets.
“The GSM team is thrilled to be partnering with VT Group in this important market area,“ said Glenn Lawton, GSM president.
Arlington, Va.-based VT acquired its unmanned services business unit in 2010 in a move aimed at expanding its aviation portfolio and work with original equipment manufacturers.
GSM has provided engineering and manufacturing support to commercial and government customers for 75 years.
