Al Verrecchia, independent lead director at Iron Mountain since June 2012 and chairman-elect since December 2012, officially became full-time chairman of the board on March 15.

The move took effect nearly three years after he originally joined the board, Iron Mountain said Monday.

Iron Mountain’s board voted to separate the chairman and CEO roles upon the retirement of Richard Reese from those positions and William Meaney succeeded Reese as chief executive in January.

Verrecchia also currently serves as board chairman at entertainment company Hasbro, where he also served as CEO for the five years prior to becoming chairman in 2008.

He has also served on the boards of Old Stone Corp., FGX International Holdings and CVS Caremark.
