Autodesk has bought Firehole Technologies for an undisclosed sum as the company aims to increase its portfolio of analysis software products.
Wyoming-based Firehole Composites designs and analyzes software for composite materials, Autodesk said Tuesday.
Autodesk plans to integrate Helius:MCT, Helius:CompositePro and other Firehole Composites products with its own offerings for structural, thermal and plastics analysis.
“As manufacturers move to more complex material such as lightweight composites, new simulation technology is required to predict and optimize the performance of these materials,“ said Buzz Kross, Autodesk senior vice president for design, lifecycle and simulation products.
Kross added the company aims to provide that technology to the design and engineering industries.
