CenturyLink has begun constructing a technology center where it will collaborate with partners in the southeast U.S. to develop new products and services.
The center will house around 800 employees near the company’s offices in Monroe, La. and feature labs, offices and meeting rooms, the company said after the groundbreaking on Monday.
The company expects to complete construction of the 250,000 square foot facility by the end of 2014 and begin using the facility in 2015.
“We expect the new center to enhance our ability to grow our operations in this area and to be a catalyst for the development of technology solutions for our customers,“ said CenturyLink CEO and President Glen Post.
CenturyLink currently partners with several firms and organizations in the state, including the Cyber Innovation Center, IBM and United Way.
