CobhamLogoCobham‘s antenna systems business has won an estimated $24 million order to build vehicle-mounted improvised explosive device detection equipment for NATO forces.

NATO officials saw a need for new equipment to help detect IED threats, Military & Aerospace Electronics reports.

Fred Cahill, Cobham vice president of antenna systems, said the systems are intended for mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.

The Wimborne, U.K.-based company expects to complete the order this year, according to the report.

Courtney Howard writes the antenna systems business builds and manufactures communications systems and antennas to defense contractors, first responder organizations, law enforcement agencies and commercial aviation companies.
