Daniel Kent serves as federal chief technology officer and public sector director of solutions at Cisco, where he is responsible for delivering new products and other offerings to government customers.
The 20-year industry veteran’s group delivers services and offerings into markets such as defense, education and healthcare and focuses on integrating technologies such as cloud computing, cybersecurity and collaboration tools for customers in the federal, state, local and education markets
Prior to his current role, he served as director of systems engineering for the Cisco's federal business for five years, leading a team of 175 engineers focused on designing and deploying enterprise communication and network platforms.
Before joining Cisco, he had a 10-year career at Nortel Networks, including service as engineering director and as a senior consulting engineer at Network Solutions Inc.
Kent participates as a speaker at many conferences such as AFCEA events, agency conferences on future technologies, federal enterprise architecture events, Cisco Live and other industry conferences.
He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine and a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University.
