Exelis Subsidiary Unveils New Cloud-Based Geospatial Analytics Platform

Exelis LogoAn ITT Exelis subsidiary has released a new platform intended to help organizations create, publish and deploy image analytics as web-based services.

Exelis Visual Information Solutions developed ENVI Services Engine for government agencies as they adopt cloud computing and take in large amounts of geospatial data, Exelis said Monday.

Users on a cloud or enterprise framework acquire services via either thin or mobile clients to receive data from airborne and satellite imagery.

Exelis is targeting ISR data analytics (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) as a strategic growth area.

Military and intelligence customers currently use ENVI analysis products to detect targets, locate threats, coordinate troop movements and identify terrain conditions, the company said.
