Harris Corp. has been selected by Cancer center City of Hope to provide healthcare business intelligence dashboards to enhance the hospital’s strategic plan and improve performance.
The Melbourne,Fl.-based company will implement its business intelligence practice variation dashboards to help City of Hope's physicians, hospital management and coding professionals identify room for improvement and drive organizational learning, according to a company statement.
Vishal Agrawal, Harris Healthcare Solutions president, said the offering is meant to improve the strategic plan and performance improvement initiatives for what he called one of America’s leading cancer centers.
The City of Hope, which takes its mandate from the National Cancer Institute and a member of Chicago-based University HealthSystem Consortium, intends to improve its clinical results and documentation system and ensure patient safety.
“City of Hope understands the critical need to compare outcomes and patient safety measures, as well as be able to assess performance data, cost variations, and coding variations,” said Tricia Kassab, vice president at enterprise quality and patient safety, City of Hope.
The Harris practice variation dashboards include the physician insight plus, length of stay, cost per case and documentation and coding, which provide operational and clinical solutions to help the hospital staff meet organizational goals.
Harris BI dashboards cover performance quality, patient access, cost and revenue, integrated disciplines, operating room procedures and specialized divisions.
“To best serve our patients, it’s crucial that we have access to risk adjusted, benchmark data. Through such data, we can create a roadmap to continuously improve the quality of cancer care,” Kassab said.
