HP Enterprise Services Spain has signed a $40 million contract to revamp the applications infrastructure of a government agency in Catalonia, as it looks to spur economic growth in the region.
Under the six-year agreement, HP will deploy its transformation, integration and applications management services to help Generalitat de Catalunya (CTTI) enhance its productivity and drive efficiency in overseeing its applications, according to a company statement.
“Governments worldwide are challenged to provide more services to a growing number of people with fewer resources,” said Enrique Solbes, general manager of Enterprise Services Iberia at HP.
HP will deliver the applications services using its facilities in Spain, as well as through a collaboration with information technology consulting firm VASS.
The applications help CTTI employees manage contracts, as well as access Web portals and contents, HP said, adding that the services align with the government“™s priorities and help reduce costs.
