IntelLogoSanjay Jha, former Motorola CEO, and VMware CEO Patrick Gelsinger are among several names Intel is considering as successors to the retiring Paul Otellini as CEO, Quartz reports.

Gina Chon writes the company wants to have a successor in place by May 16, the date of Intel’s annual shareholder meeting.

Jha spent 14 years at Qualcomm before joining Motorola in 2004, according to Quartz.

Gelsinger held a 30-year career at Intel before joining VMware’s parent company EMC.

He served as the company’s first chief technology officer and led the digital enterprise and desktop products groups.

As head of Intel Labs, he was responsible for leading many of the company’s research initiatives.
