SAIC-Decisive Analytics Team Building Army Sensor Tech; Rich Dilts Comments

SAIC_logoScience Applications International Corp. and systems engineering company Decisive Analytics Corp. are partnering to assess sensor technologies and how to transfer sensor data to mobile devices in battlespace.

The companies are aiming to evaluate the technologies against requirements and performance metrics during an experiment for the Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Strategic Command, Decisive Analytics said Friday.

“We are also validating requirements to establish a system baseline to provide the foundation for a future OPIR tactical system for the U.S. Army,” said Rich Dilts, Decisive Analytics’ space operations director.

Decisive Analytics said the companies intend to develop overhead persistent infrared, wide field-of-view sensors and processors and integrate the technologies with handheld Android devices from the Army’s space program office for tactical exploitation of national capabilities.

Dilts said the companies aim to transfer sensor data from geosynchronous orbit to lower echelons and the deployed soldier.
