Xerox has released a new cloud computing-based healthcare product designed to help customers monitor their enterprise-wide mobile devices, Healthcare IT News reports.
Diana Manos writes that Xerox will deploy the mobile device management system from a private cloud via a utility-based system to help healthcare organizations manage their security policies and compliance.
Ken Bradberry, Xerox chief technology officer for healthcare provider solutions, said the company will charge customers only for the products and services they use, Manos writes.
Information technology administrators will use the MDM system to keep watch over devices held by employees to ensure they download applications only from a secure site, Manos reports.
The MDM service also contains a mechanism to remotely lock or delete a confidential patient data from a stolen device, Bradberry said.
