A Capgemini Group business unit has won a contract to work with a Norway-based utility as it implements a new meter system for its power grid.
Capgemini Norge AS will aim to help Hafslund Nett meet regulatory standards for new metering systems and also modernize its grid and network operations, Capgemini said Tuesday.
Under the four-year project, the Capgemini business will help design and deploy the meter technology, as well as test the systems.
Gunnar Horne, a Hafslund Nett program director, said the utility chose Capgemini as its partner because of the company’s experience in providing consulting and technology services to the smart energy sector.
“We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Capgemini,” he added.
“This is a significant win for us with the largest utility in Norway,” said Peter Harris, Capgemini’s head of smart energy services in Europe.
“It is one of a series of major recent successes in the utilities sector,” he said.
