DynCorp International has received the Prime Contractor Small Business Subcontracting Award from the U.S. State Department for granting the most subcontracting dollars to small businesses for fiscal 2012.
The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business presented the recognition to the government services provider and two other awardees at the Harry S. Truman Building in Washington, D.C., on April 2, DynCorp said Monday.
The company’s small business team, led by Debbie Newberry, attends outreach programs and events to identify potential members of its supply chain community in the areas of industrial, aviation, medical and deployment and other services.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized for our work with small businesses, which has always been a priority for DynCorp International,” Newberry said.
“The expertise they bring to our programs has been invaluable in helping us support our customers,” she added.
In 2012, DI was awarded the Nunn-Perry Award by the Department of Defense Office of Small Business Programs for the company’s Mentor-Protégé program.
