IBM built the Cúram social program management platform to incorporate big data analytics, social program management and advanced security capabilities to provide citizens with access to government services across 30 information storages, according to an IBM statement.
The solution will help Arkansas DHS unify all programs of the state including Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and the State Children's Health Insurance Program, as well as integrate other programs from multiple departments, the company said.
“Arkansas will be enabled to more effectively and efficiently deliver social programs ensuring that citizens get access to the right services at the right time,“ said Craig Hayman, general manager for industry solutions at IBM.
The platform provides a single-point access to help determine the citizens' eligibility to benefits even without the details related to other programs available to them.
It will also streamline information about change of circumstances for a citizen who registered in various programs.
In addition to the Cúram platform, the Arkansas DHS will also use other IBM-powered solutions such as the Cognos business intelligence software, Tivoli security solutions, DB2, Infosphere and Rational.
