Lockheed Wraps Up PAC-3 Missile Test; Richard McDaniel Comments

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin recently tested two of its PAC-3 missiles to evaluate their ability to detect, track and intercept a tactical ballistic missile.

During the evaluation at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., one PAC-3 missile destroyed the other missile and another PAC-3 self-destructed, Lockheed said Friday.

“Today's flight test provided us the opportunity to demonstrate the PAC-3 missile against a challenging TBM target,“ said Richard McDaniel, vice president of PAC-3 missile programs in Lockheed’s missiles and fire control business.

According to the company, Patriot missile launchers can load 16 PAC-3 missiles at a time, four times more than the amount of PAC-2 missiles that can load onto the launcher.
