Nimble Inc. has developed a validated reference architecture to support private clouds that implement Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Server and System Center on Cisco Systems Inc.‘s unified computing system, according to an Eweek article.
Nimble’s Storage SmartStack receives certification to accommodate up to 75 virtual machines hosted by Microsoft's fast track reference architecture comprising three-rack-unit Nimble storage CS200 series, the Cisco UCS C-Series server platform, Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V and System Center 2012.
The CS-Series stores Hyper-V-virtualized applications in a single 3U array to lower costs on power, cooling and space by 75 percent, according to the report.
Microsoft’s Fast Track consolidates software, validated configurations, network and storage architecture partners.
It builds private clouds using the Windows Server 2012 operating system and the Hyper-V hypervisor.
Nimble said the SmartStack works with the Windows Server on Hyper-V and Cisco UCS platforms to allow autonomous scaling of performance.
