MicrosoftLogoMicrosoft and a mobile software provider have developed a new Android application for Outlook.com designed to deliver push-enabled access to email features such as inboxes, folders and contacts.

The new service launched Tuesday on Google Play and is the second Android app Seven Networks has developed with Microsoft, Seven said Tuesday.

Seven designed the app to run on Android 4.1 and 4.2 devices and to have the same elements as the web experience.

Ross Bott, Seven president and CEO, said the companies’ previous Android app saw millions of downloads and high user ratings.

Eduardo Indacochea of Microsoft said the companies aimed to integrate Outlook.com design principles with Seven’s push technology.

SEVEN has certified mobile devices from manufacturers such as Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Motorola and LG for the Microsoft-authorized Android apps.
