Oracle Corp. has won a contract to provide Aon eSolutions Inc. with its database appliance as the technology services provider intends to grow on a global scale.
The addition of the database appliance is meant to help Aon eSolutions expand its data infrastructure to support more than six billion transactions for 230,000 users every year while optimizing performance and availability of service, according to an Oracle statement.
Aon eSolutions seeks expansion in Asia and Europe where it will align data hosting with data privacy laws in the region.
Aon eSolutions provides customers in 22 countries with risk management, claims administration, auditing and safety management systems through the client-facing transaction solution RIScloud.
Oracle said the solution had enabled Aon eSolutions to save maintenance cost and time, minimize power consumption and scale down data center space by 70 percent.
Compared to other hardware and software products, the database appliance spared Aon eSolutions one-fifth of the cost and took only one day to run, according to Oracle.
Aon eSolutions sees more than 30 percent reduction in its infrastructure maintenance and patching with no additional labor cost.
