Steven Leer Elected to Parsons Board; Chuck Harrington Comments

Parsons_logoSteven Leer, executive chairman of coal producer Arch Coal‘s board of directors and a former CEO of that company, has been elected to the board at Parsons Corp., effective April 15.

The 30-year coal industry veteran also has served as Arch Coal’s chairman and CEO and previously as both president and CEO, Parsons said Tuesday.

Leer also serves on the boards of Norfolk Southern Corp., USG Corp., Washington University in St. Louis and the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.

“As we continue to focus on the resources market, we are extremely fortunate to have Steven join our board,” said Chuck Harrington, chairman and CEO.

“I look forward to beginning my work with the Parsons board of directors and to using my experience to help guide and shape the direction of the corporation,” Leer said.

Leer has also served as president and CEO of Arch Mineral Corp., a predecessor company of ACI, which founded in 1997.
