ASM Research has opened a new office in Hawaii to support programs for the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

The facility opened on May 1 and is based in Honolulu near the Pacific Joint Information Technology Center, which serves stakeholders on Maui island, ASM said Tuesday.

ASM intends to fulfill task orders from the JITC and work with other federal and defense customers located in the Pacific Rim region.

JITC is working with ASM and Northrop Grumman to test information management technologies for Tricare under a potential $300 million contract.

“The opening of ASM’s new Honolulu office is an important step towards meeting our growing presence in the area,” said John Fraser, ASM president and COO.

John Bukartek, ASM director of operations for the Pacific JITC program, said the company intends to seek new business opportunities with Hawaii-based companies.
