A Deloitte unit has been hired to study existing partnerships between the government and private sectors in Nepal and help devise a framework for implementing such ventures, eKantipur.com reported Sunday.
The consulting firm will conduct research to identify problems with the country’s private-public partnership model and make recommendations for improvement, Finance Ministry Joint Secretary Baikuntha Aryal told the website.
Aryal also told the website the company will help Nepal create strategies for bond market development and promote an enabling environment for public-private initiatives.
Deloitte will also suggest five schemes that the government can implement under the PPP concept, Aryal added.
EKantipur.com reports Nepal uses public-private ventures to procure assets and services to meet demand for infrastructure in the country.
