Research firm Deltek believes contractors can seek new business opportunities and growth in state government markets as governors focus on improving government operations, the Washington Post reported Sunday.
Chris Dixon, Deltek senior manager for state and local industry analysis, writes governors elected to office in 2010 have increased efforts on post-recession agendas in areas such as higher education and training.
States are seeking to acquire tracking and business intelligence systems in an effort to increase operational return on investment, according to Dixon.
State leaders also want to establish a pool of skilled workers comprising of graduates from two- and four-year college programs to support employers.
Dixon writes states intend to coordinate K-12, higher education and job-matching programs for those initiatives.
