Lore Systems held an event called the “Big Idea Connectpeneur Spring Forum” in March to bring together top entrepreneurs, CXOs, angels, VCs and business leaders from the D.C. area.
The forum took place at the Tower club in Vienna, Va and was attended by more than 250 participants.
The event was meant to act as an environment where entrepreneurs could come to learn and even close deals with one another.
“Come see what happens when you put a group of “A List” business leaders and entrepreneurs in one room for a few hours,” said the event webpage.
During the four hour event, five speakers gave presentations, including:
- Mark Walsh, GeniusRocket CEO and founder
- Doug Humphrey, DIGEX founder
- Don Rainey, general partner of Grotech Ventures
- Donna Harris, founding partner of K Street Capital and 1776
- Mark Levine, managing director, Core Capital Partners
As part of the forum a number of companies showcased their current business activities including Data RPM, Micronic and Yazmi.
A number of executives offered feedback on the event including George Harrop, managing director at CapitalSource.
He said the forum was a “good combination of networking time, information, and presentation of deal opportunities. The interview approach worked well I thought, and the room was certainly full.”
Randy Reade, co-founder and board member of Washington DC ArchAngels said the event included a “good lineup of people, and some of the best in the community… also, it’s great to mix VCs with Angels, as we don’t see that very often.
Event sponsors included a number of companies represented in the D.C. region such as Lore Systems, Deloitte and the Meltzer Group.
