The Intel subsidiary aims for the deal to grow its cybersecurity business through Stonesoft Oyj‘s IPS network security, high assurance market firewall enterprise and firewall platforms, the company said Monday.
Michael DeCesare, McAfee president at McAfee, said the company plans to invest in Stonesoft’s firewall technology to help customers address the growing threat landscape.
Finland-based Stonesoft develops cybersecurity software products such as firewalls, evasion prevention systems and secure sockets layer virtual private network programs for 6,500 customers worldwide to secure information transfer and oversight.
“We plan to integrate Stonesoft's offerings with other McAfee products to realize the power of McAfee's Security Connected strategy,“ DeCesare said.
McAfee plans to deploy the security offerings through its cloud-based global threat intelligence service.
