NorthropLogoNorthrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) has joined a Department of Homeland Security program intended for DHS and commercial service providers to share classified and unclassified cybersecurity information.

The company has started the accreditation process to operate as a commercial service provider to the agency under the Enhanced Cybersecurity Services program, Northrop said Monday.

Through the ECS program, participants develop cybersecurity services intended for critical infrastructure organizations to defend against illegitimate access of information and data theft.

Jim Myers, vice president and general manager of Northrop’s cyber solutions division, said the ECS program aims to extend cyber protections to assets, networks and systems that help secure the U.S.

Northrop joins a list of notable contractors such as Raytheon, who signed up for ECS in March, as well as AT&T, CenturyLink and Lockheed Martin.
