The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has chosen Parsons as the lead designer for a $1.5 billion replacement project of the Goethals Bridge.
The twin 6,600-ft structures with 900-ft cable-stayed main spans replacement bridge will stretch over the Arthur Kill between Staten Island, NY and Elizabeth NJ, according to a company statement.
Parsons group president Todd Wager said, “We have worked, in some capacity, on nearly every major bridge in New York City and we take great pride in continuing our long relationship with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.”
Under the design-build-finance-maintain contract, Parsons will work with the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Inc. and Kiewit Development joint venture, NYNJ Link Partnership.
