Profile: Kay Kapoor, AT&T Government Solutions President

Kay-Kapoor_GovConWire-12Kay Kapoor serves as president of AT&T‘s government solutions business, having joined the company in March 2013.

Her team of nearly 4,000 employees provides information technology and professional services to federal agencies.

Before joining AT&T, the 25-year industry veteran served as CEO of Accenture Federal Services and started that role in 2011.

Kapoor has also served as vice president and general manager of ITT's advanced information systems business, where she was responsible for the technical and financial performance of the firm's defense, intelligence and civilian contracts.

Prior to ITT, Kapoor spent 20 years at Lockheed Martin, most recently serving as vice president and deputy of the company's federal civilian business.

In that capacity, she was responsible for day-to-day operations, overseeing 13,000 employees and 850 federal contracts.

She also spent time as Lockheed’s vice president of Washington-based operations, where she led the company’s government relations group responsible for developing customer relationships with homeland security, healthcare and energy program officials.

Kapoor earned her master’s from Johns Hopkins University and her bachelor’s in information systems from the University of Maryland.
