Profile: Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility President and CEO

Tony Smeraglinolo serves as president and CEO of Chantilly, Va.-based government services provider Engility Corp., which spun off in July 2012 from L-3 Communications.

Engility recently completed its first fiscal year and Smeraglinolo caught up with GovCon Wire to discuss the company’s performance and which areas it is aiming to grow in (click here for his comments).

Smeraglinolo previously served two stints at L-3, first joining in 2005 as president of the intelligence solutions division within the services group for three years and rejoining the company again in December 2010.

He served as executive vice president of the services group prior to the spinoff and also has served as acting president of the group’s command and control systems and software division.

From 2008 to 2010, he served as president of DynCorp International’s global stabilization and developments solutions division.

Prior to his first stint at L-3, he held a 25-year career at Harris Corp. in finance, program management, business development and operations leadership divisions and has also served as senior VP of business operations at DRS Technologies.

He holds an M.B.A. from Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Fairfield University in Connecticut.
